Artisanal and small-scale mining dialogue in Ghana
On 19 and 20 September 2017, Ghanaian NGO Friends of the Nation (FoN) joined the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) to host a thematic dialogue on artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) in Accra. Topics covered included formalisation and women in ASM
- IIED's work on small and large-scale mining in Ghana, Tanzania and Madagascar supports multi-stakeholder dialogue, promotes local voices and explores innovations that help deliver more inclusive and accountable mining sector.
- Mid-September 2017 saw a two-day thematic dialogue take place in Accra. Friends of the Nation provided full coverage, with the first day exploring solutions to help women in artisanal and small-scale mining.
